After four months at SickKids, Sasha's fistula had almost closed when her GI bleeds started again and she needed daily blood transfusions. We brought her home on May 17 just after Mother's Day supported by an amazing hospital and community care team. We thought we had a few days left with our first child but then the bleeding stopped two days later and we had five unexpected weeks. Sasha drank milk again, we learned the IV setup, went on walks, had family over and celebrated Sasha's second birthday. The three of us were together again at home. |
